Methink thy son wilt hate thou

The first step in the evolution of ethics is a sense of solidarity with other human beings. - Albert Schweitzer

There are parents and there are 'parents'. Those who left little tiny babies by the roadside are called homo sapiens that got left behind when the evolution is handing out brains.

I'm all into proud parents sharing moments of their kids on social network (read Facebook). It's nice to know the kids is growing up healthy and getting prettier by the day. I'm happy for you, but when you bring that enthusiasm of sharing up several notch, it's not fun in 'La La Land' anymore.

Yesterday, a proud parent shared her proud moment of her son circumcision, it's okay to post pictures of your son lying on bed in his sarong looking like a sick puppy who got kick in the gonad. However it is not okay to post the picture of your son in his full frontal glory. Not okay at all! (what are you thinking?). He might be just 4 or 5 years old, little cute bundle of joy but he is still suppose to be protected by you.

It's another thing having aunties or uncles for visit looking up the circumcision, it's private, they are family, when you post it on Facebook for the world to see it became another matter. You might argue, come on he is little and beside everybody has seen it. Seeing it when your relative got circumcised is a different matter and because he is little that the adult need to practice some guideline regarding what to post and what to keep.

Quite frankly I'm speechless at the her act of complete disregard on her son modesty. Little or not there are some boundaries you need to practice when sharing material on the net. We are not talking about teenagers posting self captured photos here.

What will the son thinks when he is all grown-up and get to know that his mum post a picture of him in his birthday suit for the world to see?

Modesty is not only an ornament, but also a guard to virtue - Joseph Addison

Hmm.. I guess she never knew the word 'pedophile' that walks among FB users. And she thinks sharing is caring, therefore she shared everything. LOL!

You know the really weird part was all this friends wishing the boy well and commenting about the picture like it's a picture of a cute cat.
