At least two thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity, idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of religious or political idols.-Aldous Huxley.
And like the story of chameleon, it's changes again and again suiting it's environment. I'm tired of listening and reading about the guy. He is just a disgrace to Islam. If he really wants to follow the Islamic ways of doing things...first and foremost Saiful need to go the the Syariah court with undisputable evidence and witnesses. That is the most important part. The oath thing only come after he can't produce all that.
If I am not a Muslim...and I'm reading all this sesumpah fiasco, the first thing that will come to my mind is 'What a really terrible justice system Islam had'. All you need to do is take an oath and that suppose to prove something. What a backward civilisation.
Let's view it from other perspective...if this Saiful guy is a Buddha..Hindu or whatever other religion and we are seeing this whole drama from outsider point of view. What will you think of his action of swearing upon his God (the worse part it was televise to the whole nation).
You would be thinking along the way of...'Yeah what is he expecting a lightning strike? Come on! this is the 21st century, we have forensic science...and you rely on an oath?
Yes! he managed to humiliate Islam to the whole world. Congratulation again Saiful for being stupid. He should learn from the 12 yeard old kid who fought like mad when his 27 years old teacher tried to sodomize him. Even managing to demand he takes him home.
The Christian holds the Bible while reciting the oath of to tell the whole truth in court, the Muslim holds the Quran in court yet ... it never stops a person from lying. The Quran is to be read and understand not to be held as accessory.
In the Arab world they practically swear on everyday basis. There is nothing worth of believing there. Those street storekeepers in Mecca swear on every customers that come to their store. My classmates swears on every chance they got. Believe me some of the things they said is pure lies but the swear upon in too. It's their culture, their way of speaking not in any way is their religion.
Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.-Abraham Lincoln.
P/S: Lucky me I'm of to Jakarta for a week (I was really hoping for a Bali trip...but maybe next time). Save me from reading all this twisted story.
Anyway congratulation to my friend Maizura Zarmani on her engagement. Have a wonderful time.
