The Genome Project and Adam...
My first advice on how not to grow old would be to choose you ancestors carefully.-Betrand Russell
The rain is still pitty pattering outside like it has for the last two days, which in regards of Ramadhan is just a blessing. Makes the hunger and thirst less daunting. My kind of weather, not hot yet not too cold and a little wet.
Finished filling in the sales report I found myself wondering around the borderless world of the net. Came across an interesting project called the 'Genographic Project' conducted by National Georgrapic. (maybe one day I will participate in the project...it would be nice to know where your ancestor came from, especially when your family has the history of coming from different parts of the world) This project collects DNA from volunteers all over the world and try to detect the roots of where did their ancestor came from. They try to map the journey of human migration. At the same time in try to proof the hypothesis that we - all human beings originate from the same place...somewhere in Africa.
In a way in proven what God has already stated in the Holy Quran, that we are the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. When they were 'kick out' from heaven following the whole 'forbidden apple scandal' with the devil, they were sent somewhere in Africa or the Middle East. It was stated it took almost 500 years for Adam to meet Eve again at Jabal Rahmah. And from there the human population starts to grow.
For me it just another proof of God's power and knowledge and the truth of the Quran. And 'NO' we did not evolve from ape.
Our greatest responsibility is to be good ancestors-Jonas Salk
