It's Plastic Monday

So, I bought a new cd and I was trying to get it open but couldn't with all the layers..I mean plastic and then tape and the tape is like government tape. It says open here..is that sarcasm?, and buy batteries and they are in there with layers and layers of cardboard and then scissors....you need scissors to get into scissors, what if you were buying them for the first time? you wouldnt be able to get them open. Then you try and buy a light bulb and it's this thin thin cardboard .....what are they thinking? "Ohh they'll be fine"” - Ellen DeGeneres

It's Monday thus it is the no plastic bag day. Unfortunately I forgot about the campaign luckily I only bought four items at Tesco so it wasn't hard to transfer all the items to the car.

For those who don't know, It's the Monday No Plastic Bag campaign at Tesco. If you shop on this day they wouldn't provide you with plastic bags, if you still want to use it, you need to pay 20 cents per bag. I'm all for the campaign. If you want to shop on Monday bring your own plastic bags or use those reusable eco bag.

I'm not really sure if the campaign will work but if they offer discounts on items bought if you bring your own bag, then I'm sure everybody will want to participate. (....because we are such an eco friendly community ;-)

Generally students are the best vehicles for passing on ideas, for their thoughts are plastic and can be molded and they can adjust the ideas of old men to the shape of reality as they find it in villages and hills of China or in ghettos and suburbs of America. - Theodore H White
