Golden Age

The best six doctors anywhere
And no one can deny it
Are sunshine, water, rest, and air
Exercise and diet.
These six will gladly you attend
If only you are willing
Your mind they'll ease
Your will they'll mend
And charge you not a shilling.
- Nursery rhyme quoted by Wayne Fields, What the River Knows

Ever since I blew up the treadmill (literally) I find myself waking-up early in the morning and going the Botanical Garden just to get my daily workout, running with aging Chinese grandma and grandpa. Finding a Malay jogging or brisk walking in the garden is like finding those golden egg in Farmville (if you are lucky). Where did they go?

I can't help thinking, it's like once you hit 55 and out of work you will just sit at home doing completely nothing, trying to make up for all the lost time you had to work. (you know like how you will hid all your books after exam and just will come looking for it again once the semester start again) Unfortunately the semester didn't start again. What started out as just a two week rest become a month and eventually years and after a while you find yourself sitting a hospital bed getting angiogram.(if you are lucking not dropping dead first)

Chinese elders seems to have a much better understanding when it comes to keeping a healthy lifestyle.

If you have health, you probably will be happy, and if you have health and happiness, you have all the wealth you need, even if it is not all you want. ~Elbert Hubbard
