Puteri Gunung Ledang the musical

Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul - Anonymous

Fantastic! I guess that sum up almost everthing that I saw last night. Well...of course there are a few glitches here and there but what do you expect from a live production like that. It just something you can't run away from

A few times the microphone wasn't functioning well, things fall out from bags etc, however luckily the whole casting had been very well prepared...so things got covered. The whole production crew I believe had work very hard on it and congrates to them!.... however it would be nice to see the musical without a glitch like that, if you are staging the musical at some little places I don't mind but in Istana Budaya..the Malaysian equivalent of Royal Albert Hall, things like that shouldn't have happen at all.

Kudos to Roslan Aziz and gang.. for the wonderful music! and the lyricist...hands down to you guys!. This only shows that even in Malay language a musical can still sound nice to your ear. I use to be sceptic at this part...not that I don't appreciate Malay language but somehow when somebody try to write a musical drama based on the language it always sounded funny, wierd in the sense of the languange being chop up here and there and then try to be match to the melody. But it PGL the Musical that wasn't the case. Malay language is really a beatiful language!

The high..
* AC Mizal prove he is a great actor, he can sing and dance and he played his part very well. Gusti Adipati did steal the show.
* If in the film Sultan of Malacca is just one irritating person, but in the musical he is just splendid. Singing with a Saturday Night Fever kind of dance...yeah!
* Alright if he is not fully Malay but the Hang Tuah has a great voice. For the singing part he passed.
* The little kid Putera Ahmad...he remind me of Belalang in Nujum Pak Belalang. His voice sounded so similar to Belalang. Althought he just appear in very few scene put people like him...penatlah!..hehehe bila disuruh mengaji.
* Well Tiara can actually sings...although not as good as Siti Nurhaliza but okay lar.
*Music wise it was fantastic!

The low..
*The microphone had technical difficulties...Maybe on other nights it wouldn't happen.
*The Esambles dances, they need to make it look very syncronised. Come on people, don't dance like it was a school play.
* There was one scene when only shadows were shown of three dancers....for me cut that crap off, it doesn't look nice at all.
* Hang Tuah speaking Malay...sebutir -sebutir...macam mana la nak tangkap cintan?, from a respectfull guy Hang Tuah turns into a funny guy when he speaks....Hang Tuah kacukan ler katakan.
*Drama wise....err, tak leh nak feeling.

ni ler part yg sedikit menganggu konsentrasi, menyampah kat bayang-bayang belakang tu...
