The eyes on what??

Wisdom is a sacred communion.- Victor Hugo

I'm sure by now everyone has heard of the 'Eyes on Malaysia'.. the huge ferris wheel or 'buaian gantung' like what RTM reported. It supposed to be one of the project to attract tourist to Malaysia in accordance to the Visit Malaysia Campaign 2007. But until this day I still cannot digest the 'honour' reason given to a such big budget project. Why? One tourist was actually right when she said the the visit Malaysia campaign lauch which was held at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa near the 'Blind Eye' was a total waste of public money.

Why is it called 'Eye on Malaysia when you can only see a part of Kuala Lumpur sitting on it. It suppose to be 'Half eye on KL'. I am more irritated by the fact our 'somehow generous' government spent almost RM43 million for the project and it could be dismantled after a year. What the heck?
What are we trying to potray with this kind of campaign

Come visit Malaysia..we have the huge ferris wheel which is a resemblance of 'Eye on London' and we are very pround of it because we can afford to import it from Europe. Yes the design came from Swiss, and the project is half Germany..it was not a Malaysian product and no Malaysian participate in building it. My bet would that even the labours came from Indonesia...the Malaysian only participate in spending money.Go wonderful Malaysia!

Come on!..tourist don't come to our country to sit in a 60 m high gondola wheels for 45 minutes at the cost of RM 15 per person. They can go to London to do that. Tourist come to Malaysia for something more precious than that. Our NATURE! yes the hills, the mountains, the rainforest, the beach etc. I know the Arabs spent their time here for two things...Rain and Trees! not shopping mall like some of us might think.

Personally I wouldn't go to some country to ride a ferris wheel. I mean we go to Australia, New Zealand, Jordan, Saudi and a lot of other places for the breathtaking view, the historic ground, the weather change and other stuff that is none related to shopping mall and gondola ride. Full stop. I can't recall even a single person telling me they went somewhere for all the materialistic stuff that you can purchase at your own backyard.

And why should the spent RM15 to sit in the gondola when the can go to KL Tower that stood
412 metres above sea level for a better and clearer view of KL with extra explaination. Or you can just go the Bukit Ampang to view the city...its free! .

Our acts make or mar us, we are the children of our own deeds.- Victor Hugo
