The Rebate Irony

Plato once said 'The value of decision is based on knowladge on not on numbers'. To bad we didn't learn philosophy at school. If we do, perhaps most of our country leaders wouldn't be making stupid decision around the clock.

It's regarding the RM625 rebate to car owners. I was having after the meal conversation with my parents the other day and we all came-up with the same decision. It seems most of the person sitting on the board meeting regarding the rebate funding were either stupid or just lazy to give opinions

We were discussing a letter in the newspaper from a Naza Ria owner who plead his case on why is he wasn't given the chance to get the rebate since the government decided only owner with cars below 2000 cc is eligible for such scheme. My dad owns a Naza Ria, but since he got two other cars and we seldom use the Naza, dad doesn't seems to mind not getting the rebate. But for those who only own a Naza because they don't want to cramp all their children in a sedan, and they can't afford to buy two cars. Don't you think he deserve the rebate. I don't think Naza Ria is categorized as a 'luxury' car anymore. It cost below RM100,000 now.

You know the irony of this scheme....the guy with Naza Ria can't get the rebate because he 'supposedly' owns a 'luxury' spacious car that in reality cost below the average 'luxury' cars prices. But my neighbour who just bought a brand new BMW that cost more than RM200,000 will be eligible for the rebate since his car fits the 2000 cc category.

Kind of makes you wonder on what base does they all came up with such decision?

Everybody has that thing where they need to look one way but they come out looking another way and that's what people observe. You see someone on the street and essentially what you notice about them is the flaw. It's just extraordinary that we should have been given these peculiarities. Something is ironic in the world and it has to do with the fact that what you intend never comes out like you intend it.-Diane Arbus
