La Vie En Rose

Damien Rice - 9 cr...

Who do you blame when a child prodigy who can solve jigsaw puzzle when she was a baby, can’t solve her life?

She is still one smart person with a lot of drive to succeed academically (I mean how can you explain her pursuit of economic masters). She is not living in the gutter with prostitution as her only job, she still had a job and university masters to pursuit. Much better than those prostitute living in back lane of Chow Kit Road and Lorong Haji Taib, or those of young unwed mothers of IPT drop outs here in Malaysia. They should start a campaign of saving these people first rather than jumping on the bandwagon to London to help Sufiah.

Back to Sufiah, being a child prodigy turns out to be more of a curse rather than a blessing for her. She is very desperate to rebel against her father, and try to take control of her own life.Sadly, the way she is trying to achieve that goal is by being at the wrong end of the stick. I do hope one day she realize that 'Pretty Women' was just a film based on fantasy. No prostitute in the world ever get a happy ending.

I remembered watching Adi Putra trying to solve mathematical problems at an expo. It got me asking whether it was some kind of freak show. Yes, he can solve mathematical problems better that other kid his age but do you need to put him at an expo booth as an exhibition?

Life has a funny way of teaching us…

Life, believe, is not a dream
So dark as sages say;
Oft a little morning rain
Foretells a pleasant day.
Sometimes there are clouds of gloom,
But these are transient all;
If the shower will make the roses bloom,
O why lament its fall ?

Rapidly, merrily,
Life's sunny hours flit by,
Gratefully, cheerily,
Enjoy them as they fly !

What though Death at times steps in
And calls our Best away ?
What though sorrow seems to win,
O'er hope, a heavy sway ?
Yet hope again elastic springs,
Unconquered, though she fell;
Still buoyant are her golden wings,
Still strong to bear us well.
Manfully, fearlessly,
The day of trial bear,
For gloriously, victoriously,
Can courage quell despair !
