Ohh you know...Malaysian time

Was listening to red104.9 yesterday and the 2 DJs were having a discussion on the Malaysian time topic and it got me thinking....

What exactly is 'Malaysian time'?
For those who are clueless about 'Malaysian time'...well 'Malaysian time' is a unique term of excuses (terribly a bad one too) that some Malaysian are so proud of using when they are late or tend to be late. It doesn't involve calculating the longtitude and latitude from the Meridian Greenwich. Nope you don't need a math crash course either to count the hours and minutes because somehow it seems to be more complicated than you final year Calculus 3..there are no equation you can use because no one have the same time setting. Just too many variable..

How can it be so uniquely Malaysian?
Because there are no way you would face the same kind of problem in United States or Japan or any other places in the world.

Can it be change?
Its like telling the crab to walk straight..what started as an excuse for one or two..now has became a plague that infected most of Malaysian. Although it is funny that watches are still selling like hot cakes and a lot of people do wear it..only they don't really look at it. The only time they are punctual is when it is time to go home from work..they even leave early! Which is something so imposible to do when it comes to showing up for wedding, seminar or date.

What can you do about it?
All you can do when you are a victim is grin...ironicly that is the same thing you do when you are the one using it...even bigger grin!. Malaysian are just too polite..we like to waste our time and we love waiting...
